Unifying Shades of Grey

In a world of black and white, it's often the shades of grey that unify all of creation...

Two weekends ago, I participated in my first ever shamanic retreat at Northern Edge Algonquin Park.  It was a wonderful experience, and it really felt like a "coming home" for my soul.

From the moment we arrived, we were asked to walk in Nature, and reconnect with our inner guidance.  My steps led me to the dock.  I sat there several minutes, soaked from the fine mist, breathing in the moist air.  As far as I could see, there was the colour grey.  The sky, the air, the mountains, the water...  everything grey.  This grey, however, did not feel oppressive or depressing; it felt like a unifying colour.  It felt like everything in Nature melting into one another, such that each element's individuality was part and parcel of the next...

I was inspired to write this short poem.  Take a deep breath...  and allow for the energy of the words to seep through you, just like the mist.  Open your heart and your mind to areas in your life where you could just melt into the moment and release your individuality to become one with something that is bigger, and greater than the individual consciousness.  You won't loose yourself; the trees and the mountains and the sky only appeared grey; they didn't loose their individual vibrancy.  They only melted into one another for a moment, for a day.  Being ONE.  Feel the oneness...  Enjoy.

Unifying Shades of Grey

Sky melting into mountain
Mountain melting into trees
Trees melting into Earth
Earth melting into water
Water misting, moving shifting...
Everything appearing grey
...with its own shade
...its own texture

But ALL ONE.

Hello Sunshine! New vibes for a new season.

I want to apologize, for I have not been very present this past month and a half…  All this business of solar flares, planetary alignments, and Mercury Retrograde brought up the rebel in me and I have been questioning many of my practices, from meditation, to nutrition… to writing weekly blog posts to my tribe.  Picture that inner two-year-old AND the inner teen within me questioning everything with the heavy “WHY?”  Why am I doing this?  Is it bringing me joy?  Is it contributing to the wellness of others?  Is it uplifting?  Am I doing this just because someone tells me I “should”, or because there’s something bigger inside of me that needs to be expressed?  And when I’m in the middle of whirlwind questioning, I tend to retreat within myself and find it very difficult to reach out.  It’s tough to be an introverted Gemini (ascending Scorpio!), with so much to share and yet so many questions that demand answers from deep within! ;)

I know I'm not alone in this transformation.  I have noticed a skyrocketing of restlessness and anxiety in my clients this past month.  A few new clients have come to me in panic: spiritual gifts are manifesting without conscious forewarning, and without prior training, leaving them wondering if they just suddenly woke up crazy one day, or if there’s actually something “going on out there” to make this shift happen.

How about you?  Has the past month or so been crazy, rebellious, draining…  or have you been feeling joyful and blissful?  Or going back and forth between that spectrum?

Here are a few of my observations to help us all navigate in this changing energy:

YES: there is a major shift going on on Earth at this time.

  • The geo-magnetic activity of our planet is shifting, and this shift is having an impact on our consciousness.  Not only are the birds and the insects changing their usual routine (have you noticed?), there’s like a beacon light activated within us telling us that it’s time we change our routine, too.  Many have just been disconnected from their instincts for too long that they don’t know what to do, and how to cope.

So, how do we cope?

  • Make time everyday to connect with Nature.  Even if you live in the middle of a city, you can take time to look at the sky, the clouds, the flower beds…  Take your lunch outside.  Remember to breathe in deeply to your belly.
  • Get in touch with your true values and your life’s purpose/mission.  When I evaluate everything in my life, I weigh it against the value of “JOY”.  This value might be different for you - for some, it’s empowerment, love, belonging, connecting, courage…  If you’re in the fog, I can help you identify your key value(s) by looking at your Akashic Records.
  • Inventory your activities.  Once you know your key value and your soul purpose, it’s easier to ask yourself, “Is this activity bringing me (JOY)?”.  And if it’s not aligned to your core value, then it’s time to develop the courage and let it go.  Yes, it’s often easier said than done…  but trust me, you will reap the benefits with an increase of energy, focus… and financial flow!
  • Take time to rest and tune-in.  All of these changes in our spiritual, mental and emotional bodies are having an impact on our physical body.  Have you noticed that your body reacts differently to foods you’ve been eating your whole life?  Have you noticed your cravings are shifting?  Those are signs, baby.  Signs of the shift.  Listen to the wisdom of your body, who is working extra time to keep up with the higher vibes available to you at this time of transformation.  Treat your body with kindness, and you’ll see the transition will get smoother.

As part of my realignment, I realize that I do love writing to you; it does bring me joy.  And although I enjoyed the rhythm of the past few months creating articles and videos pertaining to the chakras, I find that I was perhaps playing it too "safe"... and my joy comes from being a bit more edgy...  So I'm stirring up my creative "witch's cauldron" and am waiting to see what will come out of the brew. ;)

I’m wrapping you up in White Light and sending you blessings of JOY.

It’s more than just plopping a crystal on your nightstand

Steps to carefully select and work with the crystal that’s right for you

It’s the third week of the month which means I am writing about crystals! In the context of the Brow Chakra month, I will share with you tips to intuitively choose crystals that can work with your vibes and help you on your spiritual journey.

I carry a small amount of crystals for sale in my healing centre.  People often come looking for a specific crystal because they have read in a book that the crystal could help with such-and-such an issue. Newbies to crystal work might even believe that placing a crystal in a certain area of their home or on their bodies might be sufficient to heal specific issues. People working with the brow chakra, for instance, might be looking for amethyst, clear quartz and lapis lazuli.  (I do have a few nice specimens waiting to find a home!)

But I’m not a “by-the-book” kinda gal.  I don’t believe that because an author says that you should work with a specific crystal means that it’s right for you.  There are many generalizations and assumptions in books.  You are not a general assumption - you are a unique soul with a unique vibe, and it’s best to find out what works best with you, specifically.  Use the books as general guidelines, but trust your intuition in making your selection.

While it is true that the vibes of crystals can help enhance certain areas of your body-mind-spirit personal vibes, nothing replaces inner work.  Moreover, I learned through experience that crystals are a bit like people, or pets, in the sense that each crystal has its unique frequency or personality.  Not all chunks of amethyst or clear quartz are calibrated to work with your vibes.  It’s important to find the right crystal that can best work for you, in your particular issue.  It’s even more important to go to the root of the issue for greater healing and increased awareness.

For example, someone might want to work on opening up their Third Eye and increase clairvoyant abilities.  But even if the “want” is there, this person feels fearful.  The fear might be rooted in a lack of skills pertaining to grounding and protection.  Or it might be rooted in adopted social negative beliefs about people who are psychic.  Either way, the Third Eye will not open up until the root issues are healed.  Stare at Amethyst all you want.  It’s just not happening.

Ugh.  That means finding inner peace or increased financial flow is not as simple as plopping a crystal on your nightstand.  There’s work involved.  So what are the guidelines?

  1. Go within to find what aspect of your life you would like to enhance.  Do you want to increase your Love magnetism?  Increase psychic abilities?  Find forgiveness?  Feel grounded?  Increase prosperity?  Clearly define what you truly want.  Then ask yourself why this is what you truly want?  What is the core feeling or value behind this want?  Is there a hurt behind this?  Or social pressure, or a sense of accomplishment or peace? (An intuitive session can help you with this task)
  2. Listen to your intuition when you select a crystal helper.  Hold your “what” and your “why” within your heart and mind as you shop, and allow your body’s wisdom to tell you if a crystal is right for the job.  To do this:
  • Hold the crystal in your receptive hand (if you’re right handed, your receptive hand is your left hand).  If the crystal is too heavy for one hand, such as a big chunk of amethyst, use both hands to hold the crystal to your heart, or to touch the crystal on its display.
  • Connect with the crystal through your senses - feel its weight, see its colours, feel its shape and the qualities of its surface (is it rugged, sharp, smooth, cool to the touch…).  This is an intuitive way to say “hello”.
  • Holding your “what” and “why” in your mind and heart, ask the crystal if it is willing to work with you on this particular issue.  Ask it to give you its response through your body and your intuition.
  • Close your eyes, and allow your body to give you the crystal’s answer.  With a “yes” answer, your body might sway forward.  You might sense a pulse in your hand chakra coming from the crystal as it activates.  You might even feel an opening or melting in your heart and mind, similar to when you see a new kitten or puppy.  A “no” answer feels very different.  The crystal’s energy might zap you (that happened to me once; it was very painful!); your body might sway backwards; you might hear a “no”; the crystal might feel too heavy, forcing you to place it back on the shelf; or you might feel a closing in the heart chakra.
  • Thank the crystal, and thank your body.  Respect the answer you received.  If the crystal gave you a “yes” answer, then adopt it and bring it home.  If it’s a “no” answer, then thank it and place it back lovingly on the shelf.
  • This process can take a while, especially if you receive a few “no” answers before finding “the one”.  Give yourself enough time to shop, look around and feel the crystals.  It’s best when you feel relaxed and open.  Avoid rushing.

3.  Once your crystal is home, cleanse it under water, using sage smoke, or placing it in a bowl of sea salt.  Some crystals can be left in sunshine or moonlight, but remember that sunshine can be too harsh for many of these minerals who have been, after all, cocooned in the darkness of the Earth for thousands of years.  Amethyst, for instance, will loose its beautiful purple colouring if left in direct sunlight.

4.  Hold your crystal in meditation, or place it in front of you as you gently gaze at it.  Use it as a gateway to your inner consciousness, and as a key to ancient wisdom.  Ask questions.  Go deeper in your “what” and your “why”.  Ask about your next right step in your journey to healing.  Is there something - an emotion, a thought pattern, a habit - that needs to be released?  Is there a specific action for you to take?  Is there an option available to you that is more in alignment with your vibes and with your divine plan?  Does it want to be activated as part of a crystal grid?

5.  Thank your crystal helper, and cleanse it at least once a month using one of the methods listed above (#3).

Crystals have a way to let us know when their work with us is complete.  You will find a change in their vibes; a fullness in your heart.  Many times, crystals will disappear.  It happened to me more than once that a crystal fell off a necklace, just like that.  I imagine it possibly waiting on the sidewalk or the parking lot for the next person to pick it up and work with it.  I’ve had other pieces disappear from a shelf and reappear years later when an issue resurfaced.  It’s important to accept that although a crystal is right for you at the moment you adopt it, its commitment to you might not be for your entire lifetime.  Like other magical helpers, crystals will move on to where their help is most needed.  A bit like Mary Poppins.  We have to be ready to let them go when their work with us is done.

I hope this article can help you select the optimal crystals to accompany you on your life’s journey.  If you have any questions on selecting and working with crystals, send me a message; I’d be happy to be of assistance.  I can also bless the crystal with Reiki and optimize it for your personal vibes.

2015 Gateway: The year I learn to love myself

First of all, welcome to 2015!   May this year be filled with Love, Joy, Happiness a deep sense that inner Knowing.  I’ve been reflecting on my inner work, my business, the big changes that happened in my life in 2014 and on the energy I feel is arriving for 2015.  I am finding it very auspicious to start this year under the umbrella of the Heart Chakra!

The sensitive intuitives out there have most likely felt this shift of energy since the Winter Solstice.  To me, it’s been palpable.  It also feels quite different.  I have a very strong sense that a new gateway has opened since the Solstice; one that is just as important - if not more - than the much talked-about gateway of December 2012 when many folks were talking about the end of world as we know it as predicted by the Mayan Calendar.

I’m seeing it like this:  imagine for a moment that you are living in a lush land governed by a beautiful of loving King or Queen.  Their castle is just beyond the horizon, past the forest and past well-tended gardens.  There are gates at the end of the forest, at the entrance of the garden, and of course at the entrance of the castle.  There are likely more gates inside the castle itself.  All gates must be crossed before reaching the royal chamber.  Each gate we cross bring us closer to this chamber.  I believe that Lightworkers of the world have been receiving their invitation to journey to the Castle in the years leading to 2012.  Some have responded with extensive preparations including meditation, fasting, and learning new energy techniques.  Others have decided to ignore the invitation, or have felt too much shame, or an overwhelm of responsibility regarding this invitation.

Come Solstice 2012, we were at the Forest Gate.  For many, 2013 felt dark and dense.  It was tough to pick our path through the thick woods.  We felt alone.  It was hard to keep the faith that something better was waiting for us; or rather it was difficult to realize that we ARE that something better as we journey and travel our own path to our soul’s destination.

At the Solstice of 2013, we arrived at the Garden Gate.  2014 held promises of flowers, sunshine and chirping birds.  Some of us become lost in the garden’s mazes, going around in circles and loosing track of the path.  It was a year of push and pull.  A year of revisiting life goals and heart’s desires.  It was a year to shed the past to recreate a new identity based on the new knowledge and Light that entered our life.  It was a year to take stock of our dreams and accomplishments, and to see if we preferred the dream to the reality being experienced, and to what degree we were ready to help THE DREAM become manifest.

At the Solstice of 2014, we arrived at the Castle’s Gate.  Take a moment now to fully visualize this Gate.  Are you at the front gate, the back gate, or any other secondary gates?  Is it covered in gold, is it big and imposing, or is it simple, wooden or of rusted iron?  Take a moment to see, feel, and listen to where you’ve arrived.  Now take a moment to clarify your hopes and intentions before entering the Castle’s grounds.  Are you entering with Love, or with Fear and resentment?  Are you entering with thoughts of lack, stress and anxiety, or are you entering with feelings of peace, contentment and excitement for all that is ahead?  If you’re like me, you’re likely experiencing a good mix of emotions and thoughts.

It is my feeling that 2015 ushers in a greater ability to manifest our heart’s desires.  Our ability to co-create with the Divine will be enhanced.  We have, therefore, an increased responsibility to be clear about what we want to experience and how we choose to feel.  We are that much closer to the Royal Court…  everything we think and feel is important.  Remember: thought-forms are energy that attract to us physical experiences.  As we cross the Castle’s Gate, we enter a hall of mirrors where everything we believe is reflected back to us.   So if you crossed the Gates with anger, bitterness and resentment - more of that will be reflected to you.  If you are clear about your intentions and your feelings, if you are willing to journey to more Love, then those are the experiences you will attract to you.  Take a good look in the mirror: do you like what you see?  Can you see the divine spark of Light and Love in you, or are you distracted by the smoke and silly mirrors that are distorting reality?

Our first challenge for 2015 is to walk through that funny house of mirrors.  Since the Solstice, I have to admit that I have been feeling slightly terrified.  I always panic a little when faced with the reality I create.  I’ve been reviewing my life since childhood and so much hurt came up to the surface - and I had to take a good look at these events.  I had to take a good look at my coping abilities, and I had to call upon extra divine help to bring Light and Love to these events.  I realized that deep down in my core, beyond all the masks, beyond all the efforts of healing…  I have been holding on to a belief of self-hatred.  I have been belittled, bullied, shamed and shown conditional love to the point that those are the feelings and thoughts I apply to myself.  It hurts.  It really hurts.  It sabotages my personal and business efforts in so many ways.  And I’ve had enough.  This is the year I stand up for myself - but out of Love and not defiance or grief.  This is the year I forgive myself.  This is the year I move toward forgiving others.  This is the year I learn to love myself.  This is my Truth, and this is how I humbly make my journey forward to a deeper, more mystical chamber…

What is the hall of mirrors reflecting back to you?  Do you need to talk about it?  I’m here to listen - book a time to connect with me via phone, Skype or in person.

Also, for all who need a bit of extra help this month, I am offering local and distance Reiki sessions at a 2 for 1 rate - that’s 2 sessions for only $100.  Both sessions must be booked in January.

Solar Plexus Chakra & Winter Solstice: Celebrate Your Inner Light!

This is the time of year where most cultures and religions - at least from the northern hemisphere - are celebrating Light on Earth.  This celebration takes on many forms, and most traditions include lighting candles and sharing wishes of joy and prosperity.  It is no coincidence; most religions have modelled their celebrations of light upon the very ancient traditions of observing the sun’s cycles.  You see, this is the time of the Winter Solstice, where the Sun appears to come closer to the Earth and the days start to get longer.  For the Ancients, this was a time to reflect upon and celebrate divine Mystery.

My kitchen island dressed up as an
Altar to the 4 Elements
To me, the Winter Solstice is the perfect time to meditate on my shadow aspects and also on the projects and energy I want to bring forth in the coming year.  I typically stay up the whole night of the Solstice painting, dancing, meditating and enjoying the company of like-minded friends.  At sunrise, we go outdoors near the beautiful St. Lawrence River and we ring bells to welcome the sun and the new solar year.  We finally go to bed at around 8AM.  The deeper significance of this night of vigil is that there is always hope, even in our darkest of times.  There are many nuggets of truth and wisdom to gain from meditating on our darker aspects.  These lessons help grow our Soul and reconnect us to the source of Light and Love.  These lessons help us understand what is truly important to our Soul, and help shed light on how we can make the world a better place by being more authentic and empowered.

This year's Winter Solstice
Meditative Painting
Looking at this time of celebration through the lens of the Solar Plexus Chakra, it is a perfect time to tend to our inner light, where we store our vital life force energy.  Take this quick quiz to check in on your Solar Plexus:

Simply answer YES or NO to each of the statements below.

  • I feel confident in most situations.
  • I am able to laugh easily.
  • I see projects and commitments through to completion.
  • I feel I have a healthy digestive system.
  • I speak up for myself.
  • I have the courage to take risks when necessary.
  • I establish appropriate boundaries for myself.

How did you score?  If you answers “NO” more than four times, it may indicate that your solar plexus chakra is lacking in energy. If you score four or more YES answers, wonderful! You are balanced in the solar plexus centre.

I love a good Sun Meditation to help balance my energy and boost my confidence, joy and personal radiance.  Use this visualization to enhance your inner peace and sense of self-worth.  When possible, do this meditation while standing in sunlight, offering your forehead and solar plexus to the light and warmth of the sun.

Take a deep breath, and gently close your eyes.  Imagine yourself standing at the top of a mountain. With your inhale, imagine you are breathing in the golden light from the sun.  With your imagination, bring this golden breath to your stomach area, where it ignites the spark within your own fire centre. You are filled with this brilliant solar energy. Your power centre is radiating with vital life force.  Imagine that with each breath, you are bringing golden light to your entire body, especially to areas that feel cold or achy.  When your body is filled imagine that, with your exhale, you are sharing this golden light to your projects, to your relationships, to your finances…  Envelop them in golden light, and know that this light will energize them and will help them grow.  When you feel complete, gently open your eyes and give thanks to the Sun.  Take this calm and restorative power into your life and move forwards with confidence and courage.

3 Top Tips to better listen to your soul

Isn't is curious that we often feel anxious, antsy, and short of breath when we're at rest, and that these feelings are unnoticeable when we're busy? Or sometimes, it's the opposite: we complete a big task and although we're proud we feel there's something missing. We might revert back to our inner teenage self and want to scream, "I'm bored!"

Here's a little secret: the voice of your Soul is very subtle. It can be heard in whispers. It nourishes you through beautiful sunsets and waves on the beach. It talks to you through the wind, the flight of butterflies, the curious activities of animals around you. It's too difficult to notice these subtle clues from your soul's interaction with Spirit when you're so busy being a "human doing machine". Let's face it: that's what most of us have been trained to be -- and to such an extent that many feel worthless, useless, unaccomplished or worse when we don't have a huge to-do list to check off every minute of every day. And who's voice is that - the one that screams out loud all these less-than-desirable things about you? Or who measures your worth based on the extensiveness of your list? Yep: it's ego. Ouch.

When we don't allow ourselves to stop and listen to our soul, we feel depleted. We feel trapped. We feel we're a slave of the system. We feel we need to conform to the rules to please and appease everyone. I don't know about you, but when I feel this way, I'm one unhappy mamma.

So what can we do today - right now! - to listen to our Soul? Here are my Top 3 Tips:

  1. Take a DEEP breath. Don't just pretend to breathe... Notice if you're holding your belly tight as you breathe, or if your neck is hurting when you inhale. If so, your muscles are holding stress and tension. Inhale deep into your belly; watch the rise and fall of your abdomen and your chest. Allow your shoulders to fall away from your ears. Remember to exhale completely too! Take at least 10 breaths like this 3 times a day. It's easy to do at the computer, driving, commuting on the bus... no excuses!
  2. Notice the world around you. Take at least 5 minutes to really SEE what's around you. How bright is the sun? What is the feeling of the temperature on your skin? What are you hearing? How are you feeling? This awareness will help you notice the subtle clues of your soul.
  3. State one thing you're grateful for. This is like magic when we need to change the nasty voices back to a positive mindset. Set a timer on your electronic device, and when it chimes, state the first thing that comes to mind for which you feel grateful! When you make a game out of this, it truly feeds the joyful and light energy of your spirit!

I am grateful for bird pooh

Really? How can that be? And how can that be spiritual?? How dare I go there?

The thing is, it’s often the small things in life that bear great gifts. It is also often the messy parts of our lives that bring forth treasures of courage, soul growth, and myriad blessings.

Surprise!  Black Raspberries from my garden.

This year, I decided I wouldn’t do a vegetable garden. Launching my business full time is taking a lot of time and effort and I decided I just didn’t have the energy or dedication to spend the required time outdoors weeding, planting, rearranging, watering… Nature decided otherwise.

Five rows of garlic came up, and just about as many onions – I had forgotten to harvest the bulbs last year. So did 2 potato plants, and a patch of carrot seeds that didn’t want to grow last year suddenly decided this was the year to grow. Then, hiding behind the garden shed is a treasure: a huge bush or two of black raspberries! They are so delicious and filled with sunshine, and unlike the seeds and bulbs I know I planted earlier, they came as a complete surprise. The seeds were probably dropped by a bird. Or a squirrel. Likely from their digestive tract…

And because business and spiritual development is always on my mind, it got me thinking: in life and in business, we often have to work through lots of… unpleasant things… to grow our dreams, goals and aspirations. When someone deals us less savoury comments or menial tasks, it is good practice to see how we can move through that and learn valuable life lessons and skills that will bring us closer to our objective. When life drops us an unexpected painful situation, it is good practice to become aware how that situation contributed to our character and growth as a person. We don’t see the benefits right away, and the life lesson isn’t immediately clear: like the seeds that work their way through manure to grow to their highest potential, we need to take a step back and allow life and energy to work its magic within us. We want to see results right away, when sometimes we need to wait for thought-seeds to grow and blossom at the most appropriate time.

Often, it is through unpleasant events, and when we expect it the least, that we find the best, biggest, juiciest surprises!

And so, as I eat a bowlful of sunny black raspberries, I give thanks to the bird who dropped the seeds last year. I give thanks for the surprise bounty of my garden. I give thanks to the less savoury bits of my life too because, in retrospect, I understand how they became fertile ground for growing my dreams, my gifts, my soul.

Can you spend some time today giving thanks for the pooh in your life? What bounty has grown of it? What is the lesson or the blessing?

I have many tools, meditations and mindset-shifting techniques I would love to teach you! I can work with you on changing your mindset and your perceptions. I can help you understand the soul lessons of your life.  I can surround you with the energy of Reiki that will nurture your soul.  Are you ready to feel more joy and abundance?

Sending you blessings of joy!

Stuck in a rut? Try this technique to switch back to positive vibes!

How different would your life be if you started wondering about all the positive, creative and good-feeling outcomes instead of worrying and being angry? This technique is tried, tested and true!

The positive action of the week comes to you with a view of the Mediterranean, at Monaco. Remember to breathe deeply (yes, right now!) and to focus on your greatest good.

In my experience, when I feel stuck in a rut or a pattern focusing on what I don't want, it helps me hugely to call in my guides and angels, and to allow myself to wonder what it would feel like, be like, taste like... if the problematic situation would have a positive spin.

For instance, instead of focusing on lack of money, I could ask, "I wonder what I would feel like if I was able to pay all my bills on time, and have money left over to play." And then I would sit in that energy for some time, using all my senses to pretend what it would be like if it did happen. Then I tell my angels that indeed, I much prefer that alternative and could they help me release the current reality and create this new vision for myself, please and thanks.

This technique is also powerful for healing relationships. For instance, instead of focusing on lack of love, of attention, of affection or instead of focusing on questions like, "why can't he pick up his socks", or "why did he choose to be at his mother's instead of baking me a birthday cake?"... Profound healing can happen within by focusing on questions like these: "I wonder how it would feel like to be in a relationship where I truly felt valued, and where I would truly value my partner. I wonder how it would feel like if I felt celebrated. I wonder how different my world would be if I didn't have the need to take responsibility for all the housework."...

Try this technique. I swear to you it is healing! You'll discover new answers and new possibilities, and you will be opening doors to miracles in your life! The deepest form of prayer, especially for manifestation, is when you can feel the desired outcome in the present moment. But sometimes we are just too stuck, stunned and righteously angry to consider changing the current reality, and instead of praying we start having angry conversations with God and the Angels. These conversations, although they can help us vent and release, don't always trigger a positive outcome but rather accentuate the less-than-desirable reality because that's what we are focusing on when we talk or pray about our laundry list of what we don't like or want.

Using this technique foils the reptilian brain and involves the frontal cortex, so you can more easily switch to a positive, joyful manifestation of your life experience.

Love & Light! xo

Oracle Reading, January 2014

This month, we are asked to nurture our inner child.  We are reminded to play, to have fun, and to honour that spark of wonder and magic within us and within all of Creation.  Doing so, we will connect to what is beautiful within each one of us.  When we recognize our own beauty, life somehow becomes easier and more magical.  We feel less stressed, less tense when we agree to have fun with life instead of organizing everything and everyone to the finest detail.

Take your inner child out for a date.  Watch your favourite movie.  Have a pyjama day.  Find a recreational activity that makes you laugh and sing.  Take an afternoon nap.  Go to a store and play dress-up as you try on a new style.  Book an afternoon off and go to the spa - and pick a nice bright colour for your nails.

Look at the world around you with wonder.  See how everything is interconnected.  Notice signs from your angels and guides.  Count how many pennies you find on the sidewalk.  Have a conversation with your pet or with a wild animal.  Talk to a tree.  Have a tea party with fairies and garden gnomes.  Watch nature shows and be amazed by the force of life.

But most of all, as you meditate on your year ahead and if, like many at this time of year you are setting resolutions, remember to include fun and playtime!  Include your wildest dream.  What is it that as a child you wanted to do "when I grow up" - can you bring some of that dream into your current life?  Not everyone can be an astronaut... but perhaps you could plan a visit to a sky dome or to NASA.  Find a creative way to make at least part of your childhood dream come true this year.

When I was a child, I wanted to be a ballerina.  And a mom, a nun and a teacher.  (Only one choice was never enough for me!) I knew they didn't all go together; I knew that nuns could not get married and have children...  but that didn't matter.  I still wanted that spiritual life, full of dance and teaching moments and children's laughter.

...and you know what?  I think I can finally put a checkmark to all of these!  No, I'm not entering the nunnery!!  I am a mother, and this year I am finally birthing that business that has been gestating in my dreamworld for so long.  I do have a very spiritual lifestyle and I am looking forward to increasing the ways I can serve other's spirits through my work.  I am  now teaching #Chakradance, Lightworker Development training, and many workshops and activities.  It's not exactly what I had envisioned as a child -- it's much better!  I am filled with gratitude at this realization!

Have your childhood dreams come true?  What can you do this month to manifest some of that magic into your life?  How do you pledge to nurture your inner child?  Share your insights below so we can support one another in creating more magic in the world!

Cards used this month are from Doreen Virtue's "Healing With The Angels" and from Denise Linn's "Soul Coaching (R)" & "Gateway" oracle cards.

Receive a complementary 1-card Oracle Card reading!

Receive a complementary 1-card Oracle Card reading! As part of my certification process as Soul Coaching (R) Oracle Card Reader, I must complete 22 One-Card Readings. Here's your chance to receive spiritual guidance on a question you have. One-card questions don't provide as much of an in-depth answer as 3-, 5-, or 7+ card readings therefore it is best to keep your question simple. For one-card readings, I like to ask questions like:

  • insight on a quality to work on/reflect upon for the day
  • insight on how to best move an energy or a situation to more positive vibration
  • a message from my Guides/Angels/crossed-over loved one on this day
  • one thing I must be aware of as I start this day/project/relationship

To receive your complementary 1-card reading, send me a personal message with your question. I will send you a photo of the card I picked for you (from Denise Linn's Soul Coaching (R) Oracle Cards) along with my interpretation of this card for you.

Maximum of 2 readings per person. Offer valid until November 15th.

L'interprétation des cartes est bien entendu aussi disponible en français; vous n'avez qu'à demander!

Moving towards inner peace

The lead-up to my return to work last week was chaotic, with my "flight or fight" mechanism turned way up, my Inner Child kicking and screaming, and my Inner Critic voicing her dislike, pointing at my flaws, and being quite disappointed overall.

Thank goodness I have tools to manage my energy!  And thank goodness I remembered to use them!!  The night prior to my return to work I took a nice long shower using a sea salt scrub, with the intention of clearing my energy field and relaxing muscles and mind.  I did several rounds of Tapping.  I prayed to be able to stay calm and centered while observing the facts from a higher perspective, gaining insights on the higher purpose of my return to work.

And it worked.

What a relief.

I learned so much about myself in one week, and I was able to release so many old, outdated and negative patterns.  I felt much lighter and empowered.  I still felt a bit shaky in some areas, like a fawn trying her legs out for the first steps.  I am just so amazed to seeing how my transformational work has changed me.  I am so grateful that I have a perfect environment where I can apply my techniques.  I proved to myself that these techniques work, and work fast!  I know this richness of experience is making me a better person, and a better teacher.

Here are some of my biggest "AHA" moments of the week:

  • Sea salt baths and sea salt scrubs work miracles to help me stay focused on the positive.  I read before that the sea salt's properties help neutralize the positive ions in one's energy field, leaving more space for the peaceful negative ions.  In the New Age field, we might say that we would prefer keeping the positive ions...  but remember science class in High School: the positive ions are the ones that are charged, while the negative ions are not.  The positive ions in your energy field are the ones that have attracted and became "glued" to elements of the environment, including other people's energy - so your energy field is vibrating with all these elements that are not yours.  It is best for one's energy field to be cleansed of all these "energetic debris" that you've picked up through the day.  I always feel centered, reenergized and calm after using a sea salt product to cleanse my aura.
  • The voice of fear is a frequency that can be turned down and tuned out.  I realized how much fear I was carrying, and how loud that inner voice was.  If I would think of changing the time of a meeting, that voice would loudly state that it was not feasible, that it was unreasonable, that I would be denied my request, that others would be angry with me, how could I dare even ask...  Whoa, Nelly!  I have challenged that voice this week, asking her "is that really true?  Let's just try and see."  And then I would make a point of noticing positive evidences like, "You see, it was easy to change the time of that meeting.  I noticed how open and receptive to my ideas others actually were."  Slowly but surely, the voice of fear from that inner critic is diminishing.
  • Weird things happen when you live out your shadow.  I grew up with a sister who was very dramatic, vocal, emotional and at times violent.  I suffered deep hurts, and I noticed how she was hurting other family members.  I vowed to never be like her.  The trouble is, when you vow to never be like someone else, you are denying yourself a part of who you are.  I realized how much I had been denying my own power, my own emotions and my own needs.  Not expressing my needs out of fear of being like someone who hurt me has actually not served anyone.  It created resentment in me in addition to low self-esteem; I was resentful that others would not meet my needs and my expectations...  but if I could not even formulate these needs for myself, how could others even begin to decode what they are, let alone meet them?  Resentment narrows one's perspective and darkens the experience of life.  Wow - huge life lesson here and continued transformation in progress.
  • Living in the moment is a gift.  Part of my commitment to myself was to police my thoughts.  Every time I noticed my thoughts went in a direction that felt icky, I would notice 1-3 positive things in the present moment, and I would affirm these out loud.  If I noticed my thoughts were going toward the "oh for goodness' sake this work is crap" sinkhole, I would reply with, "but notice how beautiful it is outside today, and how lucky I am to be working from home with the windows open, feeling the breeze on my skin."  These statements instantly shifted the energy of my thoughts.

I am happy to notice that, at the start of Week 2, I am more at peace with my decision to return to the corporate world.  I am very happy to be learning life lessons and releasing karma.  Most of all, I keep holding on to the knowledge that Universe has something else planned for me that just wasn't quite ready yet (I wasn't quite ready yet), and pieces of the puzzle are now coming together nicely.  I am very grateful that the next time I leave corporate world, it will be with a light heart and not the with the heavy, angry and resentful heart I once had.  Healing is such a wonder-filled journey!

I am very grateful that the person who will replace me is being prepared on the energy level.  I know this replacement will become manifest in the very near future, and I am so excited about all the new projects and opportunities coming my way!

Spiritual Guidance for August: Breathe, Relax, Repeat.

It is my pleasure to share with you this oracle card reading! The question I asked, on our collective behalf, is for Spirit to communicate the next step we can take individually and as a group to raise our vibration while serving the Highest Good. Like many other Lightworkers out there, I am feeling the urge for change and the inner battle between the status quo and the unknown outcome of personal and spiritual growth. Fear is showing its tentacles and tries to seduce back from awareness. Several clients have raised the same issue this past month. As a collective, we are called to change and evolve and yet we’re afraid. Being aware of this fear and its roots, I ask for Spirit to guide us so that we may keep up the faith and our courage for a continued "Awakening-with-the-big-A"…

Decks used: John Holland “The Psychic Tarot”; Sonia Choquette “The Answer Is Simple”; Colette Baron-Reid “Wisdom of the Hidden Realms”

Two cards came out of the deck to represent us this month, as we deal with the energy of change and with the fears that are coming up to the surface: the 8 Wands (reversed) and the 5 Swords (reversed). Many of us, in our awakening process, have made wishes upon the stars; we have worked diligently on vision boards; we have partnered with Spirit so that we can serve the Highest Good since, bottom line, that is the biggest wish we hold in our heart. Now, these wishes and visions are coming true! We are faced with the physical manifestation of what once was only a thought or a wish. We realize now that a thought or a wish is not as frightening as its actual manifestation... As Lightworkers, we are often just as scared of success than we are of defeat. In past lives, we might have developed our spiritual qualities but were seduced by the dark side, or were forced to serve someone else’s ego instead of the greater good. We know of the karmic consequences of these alignments and we want to remain centred on Light and Spirit this time around. On the one side, we are elated that our dreams are coming true, yet this same elation makes us want to slam on the brakes. After all, what would this all mean if we have tangible proof that we are co-creators, that Spirit listens to us, that we do have the power to create the life of our dreams? Are we ready for this responsibility? Are we ready to receive all this goodness coming our way? Would it be too much for our lower self to handle? We are reminded that how we handle ourselves at this time is vital to our overall well-being. We are reminded to surrender to higher powers and to trust the flow of life. We are being tested on how well we can take our next step, and we must remember that life brings us many opportunities where we can choose to learn and grow.

Our next best action is clear: to be patient! Something powerful is in the works. We must find ways to cope with the anxiety bubbling up, and learn to relax and rest in the knowledge that only good can come from a transformation that is divinely inspired. The Universe will support our divine spirit in all of its sacred aims. The big change we are fearing will not come with a big BOOM like thunder in the sky; rather, it will be gentle and calm. It will blossom in its own time and will be as gentle as the petals of a flower opening up in the morning dew.

The Shadow Queen is our Ally as we learn to be patient with ourselves, as we notice that we are all but students of life and that we may not be as masterful in all areas as we’d like to think. She too advises to slow down the pace: details beyond our comprehension are preventing us to move at this time. Her lantern will shed light on inner and outer circumstances. As we wait for more to be revealed, she advises that we educate ourselves about our intention. We have to dig deep within ourselves to find courage. We are asked to put ego aside as we ask experts for help and advice. There is shadow and darkness looming – but we can learn from this. Keep your inner light shining during this time of transformation!

The likely outcome of this transformation, if we heed the advice of our guides and tend to our inner light, is the healing of past heartbreaks and emotional pains, as indicated by the 3 Swords reversed. We may finally understand that our feeling of separation from Source is only a perception, an illusion. We may finally understand what it means to truly love ourselves and to practice self-care. We will learn from past painful experiences and from life’s challenges, and we will become stronger as we move on. We will get through this transformation phase stronger, more wholesome, lighter and more joyful than ever before. We will realize that we have all the tools we require to guide and direct our life. Our increased Awareness will boost our psychic abilities as we partner even more closely with Spirit. We will more readily accept divine Magic and Miracles in our life, and our faith in the greater good and in the goodwill of humanity will be renewed.

Wow – that’s a tall order we have before us my friends. I feel better already have written these lines, inspired by Spirit through my Oracle cards. I hope that you, too, can feel a sense of ease. We will get through these trying times, and the more we relax into the flow the easier it will be.

Here is what I do to help me stay centred:

  • I practice the “Breath of Life” exercise as taught by Sonia Choquette. Taking 15 minutes everyday to energize my body, set a happy intention and connect with Source is crucial.
  • I regularly stretch using yoga poses and breath work.
  • I read books and resources that support my inner peace and help me grow personally and spiritually
  • I tend not to watch the news as I know the way the news are handled feed the fear factor
  • I participate in online groups that send Love and Healing to various parts of the planet and its inhabitants of all forms.
To support one another, share your tips and techniques to create your inner sanctum. How do you create peace within yourself to weather storms and shadows? How can I help you if you are struggling with fear? Can I teach you any of my techniques and support you energetically through Reiki and spiritual coaching?

Share your action below to place it in the energy grid.

Gardening Meditation: past successes can be dead weight

I have beautiful "Fairy Roses" in my front garden.  The rosebush, about 4 feet in diameter, was in full bloom when I took this picture in June.  Aren't they gorgeous?  I have never seen so many blossoms and flowers at once on this plant.

For most of June and July, the blooms kept coming and then dying away...  and I became secluded in my office as I wrote almost non-stop to prepare manuals and documentation, to do research and to tune-in to my Higher Consciousness and Spirit as I prepared for my new Lightworker Development Program. I did neglect my garden during that time.  The vegetable patch in the back was overrun by weeds and the gorgeous rosebush in the front looked grey, faded and heavy.

Now that I have put my books and writing aside for a few days to enjoy the sunshine and the success of last weekend's training, I put energy back in my garden.  Gardening is a wonderful time for me to feel connected to the Earth, to the food I eat and to the beauty that surrounds us.  The hours I spend weeding and pruning bring me great satisfaction as I reconnect body-mind-spirit.  It's a wonderful time for active meditation.  As I tell my students, meditation is not just about sitting in lotus pose and trying to avoid the thoughts that come to your mind; meditation can also be active, when you garden or cook or do dishes.  It's when you allow your thoughts to ebb and flow while being a distant observer of your mind.  And it's about grabbing on to a thought that feels like a lesson when you recognize it entering your consciousness - and then releasing it with the other thoughts.

My "revelation" today came as I pruned my rosebush.  It looked so tired and faded.  It looked flattened, all branches flat on all sides and nothing in the middle.  It looked sad.  As I pruned away the heavier branches and removed the dead flowers, the thought occurred to me that past successes can be burdensome, just like a spent flower can weigh down a plant.

Have you had instances in your life when you felt you had to live up to a past success, and its weight, or the fear of never doing as good again, was almost paralyzing?  Or are you stuck in a thinking pattern where things were much better in the past, and even the difficulties have almost a saintly glow while the present looks bleak and the future even bleaker?  Or maybe you can recall a child prodigy with tons of trophies and certificates or movies and achievements, who is living a very seemingly messed-up adulthood for lack of being able to outgrow the "rut" past successes have carved?

In spiritual circles, we often talk about cutting away karmic cords tying our energy to negative life events, people and emotions.  Perhaps it would also be good to look at our attachments to the good things in life, too.  Maybe at times we are too attached to past successes that we forget to live happily in the now time.  We forget to create beauty now for fear that it won't be viewed as good as the beauty of our past.  We go dormant and are unable to bloom in our present because our energy is still drained by the past, that we are reliving daily in our mind like a nostalgic movie.

I have experienced the effect of this nostalgia in my public service career.  One of my mandates was to develop a change management tool and training for a nation-wide initiative.  One of the personality types I encountered was the "Everything was so good 20 years ago, and then you changed it all to this new initiative, and then changed it again.  Things were so good then I don't know why it was ever changed in the first place.  And now you're changing it again with so many elements from 20 years ago.  It's just ridiculous." This personality type resisted change.  And sometimes this personality didn't go as far back as 20 years; I've noticed it in a still-green manager for whom things "at her old place of work" were much better, the team was more friendly, the projects were more juicy...  Although going back to the past to learn lessons from experiences - successes and failures both - can enlighten the present, being stuck in the past - however good it was - is not helping the present at all.  Commiserating on the past is not bringing solutions to present situations.  Being in the grips of the past is disempowering and can stop someone from evolving and growing.

How can I apply this lesson in my life?  Well, up until last October, I was working in corporate world until my body and mind could no longer cope with a job that was not in resonance with the call of my higher self.  Although I LOVE and am so happy with the life I am creating now, everyday, a part of me is still stuck in the past.  That part of me is the one who really enjoyed the stability and security of steady income.  Whether I was busy or not, productive or not - I still received the same good paycheque right in my bank account every other week.  Income is much more fluid now as I start and grow my own business and draw upon some savings...  Remaining stuck on the "it was so nice when my paycheque was so stable" might be a roadblock, or a road-sign in my journey.  If I stay stuck in that energy, I might feel I have no choice but to return to a stable income in the corporate world.  Will I be able to see the opportunities for growth when the risk of an unsteady income can be so scary?  Am I ready to dead-head that bloom of the past?

I also realized that one of the problems I experienced in my last job was that I felt undervalued.  I felt that my managers did not recognize the wealth of experience I was bringing to the team.  I felt they treated me for less than I deserved.  In previous jobs, I participated in inter-departmental committees overseeing the policy development for the whole country, and now I was relegated to a cubicle with my opinion questioned at every turn.  I realized today that because I felt I had more value in the past, I felt disengaged in the present.  And I was very likely a tid bit arrogant - how dare they question me?  How could they not know the knowledge and experience I have?  Oh the stress I put my mind and body through for living more glorious days in the past and not fully embracing the present...  And as I complained about "their" ego, here was mine going full steam ahead...

And I continued to trim away dead branches and spent flowers from my rosebush.  I felt its energy return - and it did help, I think, that there was a mist of rain falling.  The rosebush perked back up, looking like a bush again and ready to produce more buds and beautiful flowers, its leaves a deep green and resilient, shining in the warm July rain.

I put my gardening tools away, and now am working on my spiritual tools to cut away those past blooms and dead branches that I am still holding on to.  It's through pruning - the bad AND the good - that we can feel revitalized and healthy.  We can honour our past, and yet be fully present in the now; now is the time we have to co-create our reality.  What is done is done.  What we can do in our present and in support of the future we want depends on our thoughts and actions in this moment.

How about you?  What spent blossom are you holding on to?  What past glory are you ready to cut, so that you stop feeling weighed down and start feeling revitalized, whole and healthy?

How can I support you and help you?

I am sending you much Love and Light, on a carpet of fresh roses.

Free yourself from your own negative thinking

Do you feel trapped in your job?  Do you feel trapped in your relationships?  Today, you are asked to take the first step in freeing yourself from this illusion.

You may believe that your financial situation is forcing you to accept a job that is draining you. You may believe that you have an obligation to stay in a relationship that is less than satisfactory or abusive. You may believe that family obligations compel you to create an unsatisfactory life for you so that you can please others. You may believe that a spouse or partner won't "let" you pursue your dreams and life-enhancing activities. Maybe you allow yourself to be controlled by addictions and unhealthy behaviours.

Your first step in setting yourself free is to take responsibility for your thoughts, your beliefs and your actions. Stop those negative thoughts in their tracks.  Break free from your "can'ts". Break free from your cycle and history of excuses. You are worthy of your dreams and aspirations. They are within your reach, no matter what excuses you put up to stop yourself from realizing this truth. You have the inner strength to achieve your goal, no matter how much energy you spend on projecting your fears on others so that is the only thing you see reflected to you.

Realize that when you're happy, when you feel confident and joyful, you will inspire others by your strength. Barriers will disintegrate in front of your eyes. Lower vibrations will not be able to stop you from vibrating at your highest frequency; they won't be able to stick in your energetic field.

Today, ask for help in releasing your fears and concerns. Seek a coach, pray, meditate, do cardio activities - do what you need to do to connect your heart with your head and to allow the flow of divine energy to flow freely through your entire Energy Body.

Remember: when you feel free, joyful and bountiful, you raise your vibration and can then help others raise theirs too. First, you must allow yourself to enjoy this freedom and this power that is your divine birthright.

I am holding this vision and energy for you - "I am free. I am powerful. I now allow myself to enjoy this freedom and power."

The first intake of this wonder-full training experience will be on the weekend of July 20-21.  Book your spot now to receive Early Bird Pricing! This will be a wonder-full experience for personal and spiritual growth! I'm looking forward to welcoming you to the Circle.

Are you ready to raise your vibration and awareness, and awaken your ability to send healing to your body, and to other beings in this physical realm - including other humans, animals, and plants?

Join me for an intense weekend of training where you will learn the basics of Reiki and energy healing, and you will receive personal guidance on your healing journey. You will also have lots of practice time to hone your new skills!

Level 1 will focus on physical healing, so the students are gently introduced to energy work and can develop their skills in channeling and conducting high-level energy. Students will experience a strong shift in their awareness of their own healing powers and may experience the release of acute or chronic physical symptoms. Most of all, students will unlock their ability to heal themselves, their pets and others - even things! - in various situations.

You are a Lightworker if you:
• Feel called to heal others;• Believe in the healing power of spiritual methods;• Have had mystical experiences;• Want to resolve the world’s social and environmental problems;• Want to heal your own life as a first step in healing the world;• Know that you are here for a higher purpose, even if you are unsure what it is or how to fulfill it.
Adapted from Doreen Virtue "The Lightworker's Way"

In Level 1, you will develop your healing hands. We will have fun exploring the realm of energy as you gain confidence in your ability to feel energy with your physical body. You will learn to channel high-level energy for healing work. Your commitment as a student is to be fully present for the full duration of the training, AND for the follow-up group sessions - 3 hours a month for the following 5 months. I firmly believe the follow up sessions are of utmost importance because it is during this time that you will learn to integrate energy work in your everyday life, and this is where the questions come up. I want to be available to you during this time of integration, so that your new vibration level is sustained. During the months of the follow-up, you will also have to prepare case studies to record your sessions and your progress. It is also during one of these follow-up sessions that you will receive a Reiki symbol to deepen your practice of physical healing.

There is a minimum of 4 students required, and a maximum of 8. The cost is $360 per person for the weekend and includes all material and group follow-up sessions until graduation.

Embrace your physical senses; they lead you to your divine expression

MYTH: Being spiritual implies renouncing the physical world.

TRUTH: Being spiritual implies giving meaning to the physical world, in service to the Divine. All of your senses are tools to connect you with the divine in a deeper, more meaningful way. Daily chores, work tasks and relationships are lessons by which our souls grow.

Withdrawing from the world can actually stump spiritual growth by removing valuable lessons and teaching points from our lives. Leading a sterile life devoid of sensuality and pleasure isn't spiritual; it is renouncing the gifts Creator continually bestows upon us and can lead to sadness, bitterness, and arrogance.

It can be difficult to feel connected to the divine while dealing with day-to-day living. It can be difficult to feel connected to One-ness when doing dishes, laundry, Excel worksheets, business plans, homework, purchasing leisure items such as a pool or a motorcycle... But difficulty in connecting in these circumstances are really just a ploy from the ego to keep your spirit subservient.

Being connected to your inner self and to spirit means embracing, enjoying, and being responsibly grounded in everyday life. Love your earthly experience, see how enriching it can be for your soul. The more Joy you feel, the more Joy you spread around - and yet don't get mesmerized by the physical things and live only for the high of physical sensations... there is balance to be had.

Devote all your daily acts to the One Love, and be grateful for all the wonderful things you can enjoy and share. Use the physical world and all your physical senses to know, love, and express your spirit fully.

Remember: nothing in life is inherently good or bad - only your thoughts make it seem so.
